Doctor appointment and making it through the week!

On Monday I had my appointment with Dr. Fife at Barrows Neurological. We really liked him! He was very thorough and was able to explain a lot to us about the inner ear. He also did several tests to test my inner ear, which fortunately seemed to be working okay. Fortunately and unfortunately, he did not find anything wrong with my ear, which is so strange because the pain is still so intense at times. He did suggest that it may have to do with allergies as well and that my tube in my right ear still just has to "pop." Augh...I wish it would pop as easy as the left ear did! He didn't feel that I was on strong enough dosages of my medications though, so he increased my dosages, which should start helping with the dizziness more. I follow up with him again in January. I still follow up with the neurologist every couple of weeks for the time being. Hopefully, I'll be able to start weening off those appointments soon.

I started back to work on Tuesday and made it through the week (barely)! I took it very slow and easy, day by day and by 3:00 each day, I was ready to go home and take a nap! I was exhausted! I was also more dizzy and had more headaches this week than I did the last couple of weeks, but I know it was just getting back into the routine and seeing all of the motion of everything. It was a rough week so I am getting lots of rest this weekend! The doctor said it would still take a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things, so I just have to remember that. Hopefully next week will be a little better than this past week!

My kids in my class were so excited to see me so that was a great feeling! They made me so many welcome back cards and had my classroom decorated for me when I came back on Tuesday. Last night we had a fall festival at school and I saw a lot of parents there. So many of them commented on how glad they are and how glad their kids are that I am back. That made me so happy to hear that! I can't believe it was 6 weeks since I had seen everyone at school!

Time for an update

Well, here it is October 13th (5 weeks later) and I thought I would be back to work today since fall break is over. No such luck! Fall break really wasn't much fun this year as I spent my time at home (literally since I still can't drive) and pretty much spent it on the couch. I still have the earache, a slight headache, and am still pretty dizzy. I went the the neurologist last Wednesday and he was able to get my appointment at Barrows Neurological bumped up to October 20th, so only 1 more week to wait! So, he said he doesn't want me going back to work until after I see the doctor there. He also put me on a low dose sleeping pill to help my body relax and get some much needed sleep (since I tend to lack in that area). That seems to be helping already! Needless to say, Makayla is ready to go back to school on Wednesday. She did play really well with Conner during the last couple of weeks and they both spent a lot of time outside, which was nice!
