Happy Halloween!

Halloween was a blast this year! Both of the kids were so into it! We had the family over for the annual chili dinner and then off for trick or treating we went! Conner walked the entire way and wouldn't let anyone help him carry his bucket for him, even when it got heavy! He loved it! We got to one house where there was a statue of a dalmation on the front porch, so we had to take a picture with Conner! The last picture shows just how tired and worn out both of the kids were by the end of the night....Makayla feel asleep on the couch! A great time was had by all! Until next year.....Happy Halloween!
P.S. Grandpa with the pool (Knopf) even brought over his clown costume that grandma made so that he could join in on the fun! He used to wear this costume when I was little and he took me treat or treating!

Attention, attention, here is Conner!

With Makayla in her activities, it is not very often that Conner gets the spotlight all by himself, so I couldn't pass by these pictures without putting them on of just Conner! He is just so darn cute! He sure took a liking to this holiday called "Halloween" this year! He is sure the sneaky little candy thief!

Carving pumpkins

Makayla and Conner had an absolute blast carving pumpkins this year! They both were so into it! Conner was so funny because he couldn't stand being so dirty! He kept saying, "oohh, gross....." over and over again and shaking his hands. It was hilarious. The best came at the end when he tried to eat everything inside the pumpkin (told you this kid would eat anything)! I'm glad we got it all on video!

Ready, set run!

early morning stretching

coming in from another lap

don't forget to grab that stick for the last lap
Makayla has joined Running Club again this year and she will also earn a patch (for physical fitness) for it for Daisies as well! We leave the house by 6:35 to take Conner and get Makayla to Running Club by 7:15 every Tuesday and Thursday morning! Last year she ran 41 miles and her goal for this year is 50 miles....we'll see! So far after 4 practices, she has 10 miles down! Keep running Makayla!

Riggs Elementary Fall Festival

On October 24th, we went to the Riggs Elementary 2nd annual Fall Festival! We didn't stay too long since it was my first week back to work, I was exhausted, and still not feeling up to par, but the kids did have a great time! Makayla's class started the festival off by singing a song for everyone....it was so cute! Makayla and Conner picked pumpkins from the field and decorated them. They loved bouncing in the bouncy house. We can't wait to go back next year!

Daisy Girl Scouts

Makayla is in Daisies again this year and of course, loves it! I decided not to co-lead the troop this year.....too much! Thankfully, Anna's mom, Hillary, is co-leading with another mom. It is very convenient for me because the troop meets right after school in my classroom! They have a lot of great things planned for the girls this year and it is such a great experience!
P.S. They are allowing Daisies to sell cookies now, so.....you know what that means! Makayla will be hitting you all up when cookie sales start! We know how much you all love Girl Scout cookies!

Star Student

Makayla was Star Student for the week in her class! She was able to complete and decorate the Star Student poster and present it to her class. She also brought in a mystery bag with some items that represent her and her class had to guess what she brought in. She was the line leader all week and she loved that! It was amazing how special she felt! Another great thing that she did was eat lunch up on the stage with Mrs. Weyenberg, the school principal. Of course I tried to sneak a couple of pictures and when she caught me, she (as well as the other kids at the Star Student table) hid under the table. I try....

Swing, Batter, Batter, Swing

So, by now, we are all convinced that Conner man will be some sort of ball player! Boy, does he love to throw and hit balls! This picture was a complete action shot....he had just hit the ball off the tee with the bat! His newest game is throwing the balls and frisbees over the fence in the backyard so that we have to go around the front and get them! Keep up the great ball playing Conner! Maybe you'll be famous some day!

Off to the farm!

On the last day of fall intersession, grandpa and grandma with the tractor (From) came and picked up Makayla and Conner and took them to a farm for the day. Can you tell how excited they were to actually get out of the house for once instead of being cooped up with mom?!?! Makayla wasn't so sure about the animals, but Conner loved petting them (especially the bunnies) and loved riding the pony! They even took them to the airport for lunch to see the planes! Thanks for taking them!
P.S. Notice they both have their John Deere shirts on!

Our little gymnast!

Makayla has taken gymnastics through the city programs before, but their classes were pretty much just tumbling classes. Well, since watching the gymnastics during the olympics this year, she really became interested in taking "real" gymnastics so that she can be in the olympics some day (her words)! Hey, it's okay to dream big, right! So, we signed her up at Arizona Olympian with her friend Anna, she absolutely loves it. She goes one day a week for now, but we may soon be bumping the girls up to two days a week!
